the twin stars, that I have converted into a picture.

Written by J. Mayrhofer, set to music by Schubert - this song has been with me
since my early childhood.

The mariner talks to the stars as if they were human beings; he courts them,
he bribes them with offerings.

He is all alone with his little ship in the
deep blue nocturnal sea under the endless sky.

The twins, embossed as the emblem in the sail,
are sticking closely to each other -
so they are better prepared to watch out.
